SAFETY SALLY SAYS,

How will I know if there's an emergency?

There are a number of ways through which we will let you know of an emergency.

HEARING THE ALARM OUTSIDE

Sumner has an alarm system at the High School that will sound in the event of an emergency.  You may hear a siren and/or a broadcast of information.

Also, many have noticed that they can't hear the alarm well inside, especially if the TV or radio are on.  The alarms are designed for warning people outside.  Read on for how you'll hear of an emergency inside your home or business.

GETTING WORD INSIDE

There are a couple of ways you could hear about an emergency inside.  First, you may get a phone call.  Using the 911 system, the County can actually call you with an emergency message.

Second, you could have a NOAA Weather Radio in your home and/or office.  These radios give current weather forecasts and provide all-hazard warnings.

Click here for more details about using NOAA Weather Radios.
