Sumner is a great place to walk to school.  It's flat, and most routes have sidewalks the entire way.  A program called Safe Routes to Schools has helped us fill in more of the missing sidewalks.  The Sumner School District is even coordinating a Walking Bus program where one or more adults lead kids along a set route for added safety. 

Walking is fun, gets you exercise, gives you more time to socialize with friends, and saves gas, improving air quality.  So, check out the safety tips, lace up your shoes, and start walking to school!
