CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

About City Council Meetings

Regular meetings are usually held the first and third Monday of every month at 7 pm.  Study Sessions are held the second and fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 pm.  This less formal meeting allows Council members to meet with City staff, review new policies and be briefed on projects. 

The Mayor moderates the Council meetings but only votes in the event of a tie.

Council Committees

In order to review potential council items in detail, the Council members also meet with committees that deal with specialized parts of City government.  Each of the following committees includes up to three Council members:

• Community Development & Parks: planning, Senior Center, parks, permits, recreation, golf course, cemetery

• Public Works: roads & utilities

• Public Safety: police & fire

• Personnel & Finance: City management, budget
