SUMNER POLICE DEPARTMENT SCHOOLS
One of our most important audiences are children. We want to give children young and old the tools they need to be safe. Most importantly, we want them to know that throughout their life, police officers are there to help them when they need it.
Sometimes, this means having a student read to an officer for Dr. Seuss's birthday. Other times, this means challenging the high school staff to a game of basketball to raise money for new exercise equipment.
One of the most formal partnerships between the Sumner School District and Sumner Police is the DARE program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
