ARTS COMMISSION

Sumner Arts Commission is a group of dedicated volunteers whose mission is to improve citizens’ quality of life through art experiences and contribute to the aesthetic environment of the City.

The Arts Commission advises the City on arts and culture and are involved with selecting public art, which is displayed throughout the City, including the Sumner entrance sign, the artwork over the doors of City Hall, the color of the Bridge Street bridge, and the artwork for Rainier View Park's new entry plaza.

The Arts Commission is also instrumental in bringing programming to the City of Sumner, including the popular Music Off Main concert series, Write in the Valley authors' event and the Sumner Art Walking Tour (PDF).

The members serve three-year terms. Arts Commission meetings are held the 4th Thursday of each month at 5 pm at City Hall.
