POSITION:  Groundskeeper I, Parks Department

SALARY: $3,809 – 4,071

 

DUTIES:  This is entry level work in the Parks Department performing semi-skilled and skilled manual labor to accomplish the repair, maintenance, construction and upkeep of the City’s parks, sports complex, designated roadside areas, related trees and shrubs, and City facilities.  This position may be required to work at other related City facilities, such as the cemetery as needs arise.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

REQUIRED:            

Education Graduation from high school or GED.

 

Experience:  A minimum of one (1) year experience in parks maintenance or a directly related field.

                                   

                                    Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Valid Washington State Drivers License

  • AED, Standard First Aid & CPR  Certification**

  • Public Operators License**

**Must obtain within 1 year.**

POSITION:  Operator, Wastewater Treatment Facility

FUNCTIONS & PURPOSE:         

Listed below are examples of typical duties:

  • Conducts inspections of sewage lift stations by observing equipment operation, listens for unusual noises, orders, vibrations, etc. determines equipment malfunctions and performs maintenance;

  • Performs equipment maintenance such as equipment lubrication, pulling electrical motors, servicing pumps and check valves, maintaining pump control systems and other repairs.  Maintains records of service performed and reports equipment malfunctions;

  • Performs all N.P.D.E.S. laboratory tests at laboratory accreditation standards and enters data on daily lab sheets and operations report;

  • Reads and applies technical procedures related to the operation of plant equipment;

  • Maintain the effective daily operations of the WWTF.

 

REQUIRED:            

·         Graduation from high school, or equivalent. Average Computer and record keeping skills. 

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Washington State driver's license with a Class "B tanker" endorsement within six-months of employment;

  • Possession of standard first-aid/CPR certification;

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid Flagging Card within six-months of employment;

  • Possession of Washington Certification of Competency Water Pollution Control Plant Operator- In -Training within six months of appointment.

LATERAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Establishment of an Initial Eligibility List

 

POSITION: Full time Lateral Police Officer

DATE OPEN:  Open continuously, first review May 1.

SALARY RANGE: $5,112-6,229 (2012 salary range with excellent benefits)

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and a US Citizen.

  • High School Diploma or GED.  Two year college degree preferred.

  • Valid Washington Drivers License (or ability to obtain one by date of hire).

  • No felony convictions.  Ability to pass extensive background check, including polygraph, medical and psychological exams.

  • Must have two years of law enforcement experience as a full time police officer and/or detective with a recognized law enforcement agency and have been employed within the last 12 months.

  • Graduate of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Basic Academy, certified as eligible to hold a police commission in the State of Washington, or must be able to meet Washington State Equivalency requirements within 6 months of hire.

  • Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the position of police officer.
